This We Believe
-
GOD has revealed Himself in the Bible - the inspired and infallible Word of God, our sole and certain guide for all matters of belief and behavior.
-
There is one God. He is the Creator of all things, infinite, perfect, eternally existing in three Persons - Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
-
Jesus Christ is the Son of God, the second Person of the Godhead, He was virgin born, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, was buried and rose again. He ascended bodily into heaven, is enthroned at God’s right hand as our Great High Priest and is coming again to earth,
first to receive His own and then to reign.
-
All men need to be saved; Salvation has been purchased by the Lord Jesus Christ and is offered to us the free gift of God. This salvation cannot be earned because it is of grace. It must be personally accepted by faith in
Christ.
-
The Church is composed of all true believers in the Lord Jesus. Local gatherings of believers ought therefore to be non-denominational expressions of the Church.
-
The Lord Jesus left two ordinances with His Church - baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism by immersions depicts our death with Christ; the Lord’s Supper proclaims Christ’s death for us.
Both ordinances are for the strengthening of the individual believer.
-
Heaven and Hell and both real and eternal.
Church Structure
-
Word "church" means "called out"
-
Greeks used this word to refer to "an assembly."
-
The Holy Spirit chose this word to provide us a picture of what the church is to be:
-
A group of people whom God has called out of this world to be "His own people."
-
We become God's own people when our faith leads us to respond to the gospel message and walking according to the scriptures (THE HOLY BIBLE)
-
church is comprised of all believers who are walking by faith. Acts 2:37-47
-
Marietta Bible Chapel is the meeting place for Christians who gather in scriptural simplicity, who have already been joined, by the Spirit of God,to the body of Christ, the Church of which the Lord Jesus Christ is the sole Head. We gather to worship, glorify, magnify FATHER,SON and HOLY SPIRIT (HOLY TRINITY) and also to encorage,to strengthen,to edify, to exhort, to pray and comfort one another in accordance with the
Word of God 1 Thessalonians 4:18,Hebrews 10:25,1 Thessalonians 3:2,Philippians 4:8,Hebrews 10:24 and other scriptures.
-
The Chapel does not represent any man-made denomination of Christians and does not represent humanly constructed barriers in the form of creeds, government, discipline, etc., but sincerely endeavoring to "keep the unity of the Spirit (which God has already made) in the bond of peace"
Ephesians 4:3
-
The Chapel follows the Biblical Model for Church Organizational framework and leadership as outlined below:
-
The universal Church (refers collectively as local churches) and the local church was in GOD's eternal plan and it was not, and is not designed by man and was purchased with Jesus's blood from every tribe and language and people and nation Revelation 5:9-10
-
Christ is the Head of the Church and Church is the of the body according to Ephesians 5:23, Colossians 1:18
-
The Church is Bride and Jesus Christ is the Bridegroom according to Ephesians 5:29-32
-
The Church is a kingdom - with Jesus Christ as its KING according to I Timothy 1:17
-
GOD revealed his Church and how it is to be organized:
-
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood according to Acts 20:28
-
The church is not an organization; but there must be organization in the church. Every Christian has been given the responsibility to be a minister according to his individual God-given time, talents, and treasure available to Christ so that his fullest potential will be realized for Him, as expressed in Romans 12:5, I Corinthians 14, Ephesians 4, and other scriptures
-
The fundamental principle from which church leadership and organization develop is this, Jesus Christ is the Head of the church according Colossians 1:16-18,Ephesians 1:22-23. The Headship of Christ can be summarized by three prepositional phrases,by Him,for Him,unto Him. The Headship of Christ, then, prohibits the exalting of anyone but our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ Himself, for His headship demands that He have the pre-eminence.
-
There is an established order in the church and each congregation is full and complete in itself. The local church is to be autonomous, free from any external authority or control, with the right of self-government and freedom from the interference of any hierarchy of individuals or organizations and Local church appoints their own leaders Titus 1:5.
-
The two leadership offices in the New Testament are those of elders and deacons specified in 1 Timothy 3 & Titus 1 . It is the elders of the congregation who are to "shepherd the flock of God" 1 Peter 5:1-2 .
-
Qualifications, Functions & Responsibilities of Elders and Deacons are specified in 1 Tim. 3:8-13. . Evangelist, pastor(shepherd), teacher refers more to the functions of this office. Bishop or overseer or presbytery are synonomus to Elders. It is most interesting that the qualifications for deacons (1 Tim. 3:8-13) are almost identical with those for elders, indicating the importance of their ministry.
-
Application and Conclusion:
-
It is our deepest desire to submit to God's plan for His church. MBC provides an environment that is Biblical centric and will attract those who are genuinely seeking the Lord and place of encouragment for each of us to develop our talents so that God will be glorified.
